23% of adults in Slovakia smoke, slightly above the EU average, with nearly 10% using e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches.
According to a recent report by TASS, as of November 20th, a new survey revealed that 23% of the population aged 15 and above in Slovakia has a smoking habit. This percentage is slightly higher than the average smoking rate of 20% among European Union countries. Interestingly, around 10% of the population has tried using e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches.
Among the adult heavy users of e-cigarettes, 90% started smoking since their middle school years.
