According to the Ludlow Advertiser, the Wimbledon City Council unanimously voted in favor of banning disposable e-cigarettes.
During the general meeting on November 9th, members of parliament expressed their support for the position put forth by the Local Government Association (LGA) and its call for a ban on disposable e-cigarettes before 2024.
David Chambers, chairman of the Committee on Councilors, Child and Family Review and Oversight, has long advocated for the implementation of this ban.
He told the attendees, “In recent years, due to warning labels on packaging, the number of smokers across all age groups has decreased. However, e-cigarettes have become a part of daily life and it is evident that manufacturers and distributors are shamelessly promoting tobacco, using bright colors to attract children.”
He expressed great delight at the overwhelming support from all county council members for the ban.
