Slovenian Government Proposes Law to Prevent Youth Tobacco Addiction

Slovenian government proposes new law to combat teenage smoking addiction by banning e-cigarette flavors and indoor smoking.

According to a report from Agence France-Presse (AFP) on November 10th, the Slovenian government has recently introduced a legislation proposal aimed at preventing tobacco addiction among teenagers. The proposal includes a ban on all flavors in e-cigarettes and prohibits smoking in enclosed public spaces.

Slovenian Health Minister Ljubica Prevolnik Rupel emphasized that research indicates non-smoking adolescents are four times more likely to use e-cigarettes than those who do not use them.

In addition, the bill will also eliminate the existing exceptions that allow smoking in designated areas in workplaces and restaurants, thereby fully enforcing the smoking ban regulation approved in 2007.
